Cooking Blog SCR

Cooking, that’s what my blog is all about! It’s called “Cooking, What can you make?” On this blog, there is one recipe for each meal of the day, as well as pictures of the specific food. There is a recipe for Big Breakfast Burritos, Grown up Mac and Cheese, Short Ribs, and one for Key Lime Pie. There is also going to be a video of the 8th graders cooking in Ms.Opfer’s class, to demonstrate what types of cooking we, as 8th graders, are doing. There will also be pictures of 7th and 8th graders cooking. “Cooking, What can you make?” is still a work in progress.

Why was 6 afraid of 7? Well 6 wasn’t because it used 6 thinking hats to solve the problem. Well what he did was put on his metcognition hat (blue hat). Then he put on his idea hat (green hat) and came up with two ideas. The first one was to see why 7 was afraid of him and his other idea was not to do anything so 7 wouldn’t be rude to him. Along the way he put back on his blue hat and then put on his black hat. And realized that he wasn’t the mean type and took out the idea about being mean. Eventually he went on to the white facts hat. And knew that the fact had more curves made him mad. He put on his red hat (feelings) and felt he had to say sorry. And in the end 7 put on his yellow hat(positive) and realized that 6 was his best friend the end.

Procrastination

Procrastination that is what I do most. I wait for the last minute to do my work so it’s not the best work I could do. I try to work hard but I can never get ahead… and when I do I just fall behind again. But I’m trying.

Ben carson

The life of Ben Carson can relate to my goals in many ways.My personal goal is to be successful in my life. I think his life relates to my goal because my parents always tell me to do my best. They work me hard so I have the best grades I can. If I don’t get good grades I would be punished. I am becoming a better student as he was, even though some people picked on him and didn’t like him that much. I respect him and he is my influence. Which is why I think his life can relate to my goal.

The Six Thinking Hats

The six thinking hats is a tool to get ideas out. There are different color hats, white, black, green, red, yellow, and blue. They all mean different things as well. the white hat is facts and figures. the black hat is seeing why ideas are bad. Green hat is the brainstorming hat, no critisizng here! The red hat is for feelings. Don't critisize on the yellow hat, it's only for saying why an idea is good. Last, but not least is the blue hat, which is the metacognition hat. So there you have it! The Six Thinking Hats.

Ben Carson

I can relate to the life of Ben Carson for a few reasons. For example he was always called a idiot and I have Ben called that to. His mom also made him read, and I read a lot to. But he has more success than me so far. From reading he learned more things and became the top of his class. Then later became a doctor type person. So he achieved much in his life even though he was at the lowest.

Pro 21st Century Program

You’ve all heard that the 21st century program has been approved to move on to 9th grade at Harrison. This program has taught all students something that they wouldn’t have learned going to a normal school. True, some things you would have learned, but it would have taken a couple years. For example, we wouldn’t have learned economics until high school or maybe even college. But now we will be a step ahead of everyone else because of this program. We also learned things like critical thinking and reasoning. That has taught us to come at problems from a different angle and come up with better solutions. That class has also taught us how to identify fallacies in an argument. Most of all, we get a free trip to Japan. This is one thing that brought attention to students about the program. We get to go to Japan for a week and explore the cities of Tokyo and Kyoto and do things such as climb the Tokyo Tower and ride the bullet train. Overall this program has taught us many things that are going to help us in our futures, and should definitely be something you should consider joining or continuing.
Japan, Japan, Japan the buzz of a wonderful, and mystical place. April, 16 the arrival date we’ve all been so anxiously awaiting, the Japan trip. The trip is a good experience because we get to learn about a new culture, and to get a grasp on what it will be like if we travel and or if we have to move for a job. This fits in with almost every thing we are learning because it helps teach us critical thinking, globalization, information literacy, Asian culture. The buzz of Japan is big for many reasons as I have presented.

How is going to Japan benefiting us?

To start off, we will be able to learn their religion and what they do different. For example, what they usually eat, and if they pray before they eat. We will be able to see what are the major buildings and why. Additionally, we will see how they are disciplined and how the kids our age over there getting taught. Especially, we will be able to learn their language. Plus we will see their technology and see if theirs is as high tech as ours. It is so exiting; this will not only benefit us now, but also in the future too. We will be living there for a week and we will learn not only the items I listed above, but also many more.

Ben Carson

Sometimes, you are set into a struggling family that has no money and your entire life is a mess even at school. At school, many people made fun of him and thought he was useless because he was just plain stupid. But with a mom that wanted him to succeed in life forced him to read and do work with no TV or radio. After a few months in school with his mother forcing him to excel in his work, he became the smartest kid in the class. Then moved on to be a successful Doctor that made thousands and thousands of dollars. But my life was completely opposite I have decent grades and I probably will not become a doctor and make millions of dollars.

Immigration

First to start off, i will talk about Mexican immigrants first. (There are two other ethnicity's of immigration not just Mexican).

Mexican:
People are dieing everyday by crossing the desert. The deaths of people dieing in Illegal Crossings of the boarder in the years of 1998-2004 was 1954 people.

Life Skills and Never Ending Knowledge

Life skills and never ending knowledge; this is what the arts gives you. Some life skills that have been engraved into our knitting, sewing, make songs, and do yoga positions. Not only to mention we are learning how to cook. This will be with us for the rest of our life because it is a basic life skill. Now, we can apply sewing and knitting to making our own clothes. For example, I am stranded on an island and all I have is sewing string, a needle and ripped up pieces of clothe. With my newly learned skill, I can make myself what ever needed piece of clothing. To follow through with my point, yoga is used to release stress. With all the work and projects due stress can be an issue. With our new acquired skill now we can take the time we have and do yoga.
As I conclude and finish my stance, these skills that are taught to us can have a major and an important role in our life! As it is very evident that these taught skills can be applied to our every day life. With our new life skills in our mind well remembered these skills are also important to the adult life.

The six useless hats
The hats can help with problems and all but before the hats were made we’ve all made choices that have gotten us through problems they can be useful in the harder problems. Some are useful I’ll give the hats that,
The white hat; fact based and has to be logical
The black hat; criticize anything with logic
The red hat; the emo hat that doesn’t have to be logical
These are the ones that I see fit to use in its general terms. this is a relevant topic since we are discussing it in CT.

Trip to Japan!!!!!!!!!

We are going to Japan on April 16, 2008. On our blog we are talking about the trip to Japan. On our blog we have the great experience we are going to have. As we eat different food, see different clothes, there culture, and more. As we go to Japan we already got a picture of what is going to be or look like, but we have facts and opinions on our blog. Therefore, in Japan we are going to sometimes see different things, but we’re going to have great experience.

Is going to Japan a good idea or horrible?

Some people think Japan is horrible. I believe it is a great expeiperence. It can also teach the students another culture. The horrible thing is the parents dealing with there child being away for a week. The students also may worry about the plane crashing. You take your stand is going to Japan a great idea or horrible?

Success!!!!!!!

Successful people:
Love Yourselves… that is what I do most. Most people say being self-centered is a bad thing, but it is a key factor in my success. For part of my life, I only looked at the mirror, trying to change my self because I couldn’t love myself… who would? But the older I got, I realized that to be better, I had to love myself. People always try to change me and it made me forget how to be successful and love myself. But now every time I fail, I see myself the way I want to be seen. You know what they say… love is success.

Ben Carson

Ben Carson
Ben Carson is a good example that everyone should follow to achieve their dreams and succeed in life. Initially, Ben Carson is an excellent example because many people did not believe in him and he proved them all wrong. If this entire class would study and read everyday like him then we would all end up similar to Ben Carson; smart and rich. Next, whenever I don’t want to do my work or pay attention I remind myself about what my future will be like if I don’t pay attention. Last, I can see how Ben Carson has inspired many individuals and in fact he has inspired me. He came from nothing and used to be called stupid, he went from the dumb kid in class that everyone makes fun of to the smart kid in class that everyone looks up to and wants the answers from. Ben Carson is a very special individual that everyone needs to follow.

The Six Thinking hats

People always argue when in groups with people they don't like. The best way to solve that problem is to use the six thinking hats. The colors of the ats are white, black, yellow, green, blue, and red. Those could solve that problem by getting rid of your ego to, help get stuff done faster and better. That is how the six thinking hats would help stop arguments among the group.

Ben Carson By: Marceda Jenkins

Benjamin Carson’s life relates and influences my life by showing me I can do anything if I try, because when he was in 5th grade he was called dummy. Because of this he had a uncontrollable temper. This relates to me because I have a huge anger management problem. He’s life also shows me that if I don’t start turning my work in on time I’m never going to get a good career. And this is how Ben Carson’s life relates to me.

ben carson by lawrence wells

My Sentence: Ben Carson was an amazing man and I’m surprised that I never heard about him, he has done so many wonderful things that I can’t describe with human language. He was known as dummy, even by his teachers, he was at the bottom of his class and his mom was not pleased. His mom started to make him read 2 books per week and write a report, but the thing about it is, she couldn’t read but she pretended to because she cared about her children’s education so much. Later on in the future, Ben Carson did some amazing things such as; brain surgery, separation of Siamese twins, controlling his temper, and probably so much more! All in all, you see how Ben Carson has changed the world for people; I wouldn’t blame anybody if they looked at them as their idol.

The problems of the World: Global Warming Derek & Kenitra

Ben Carson is very inspirational to me. Ben has helped me learn that life can be better. I also learned that it is better to read books than having to do anything else. Although I can't relate to Ben... but he has showed me many things. He has shown me that being treated different isn't always so bad. Also he has shown me every one can change in some way shape or form.

The Six Thinking Hats 3

Ok everyone until now, people thought that there are only six thinking hats.
Blue-the hat of metacognition
Red-the hat of emotions
Black-the hat of cons
White-the hat of facts
Green-the hat of wild ideas
Yellow-the hat of pros
But today, I tell you of the seventh hat...Brown hat, the hat of boredom. The brown hat is the hat you put on if you are bored and want to spice up your life. The six thinking hats relate to the program because we discussed this in CTR to help solve conundrums. This relates to a job because using the hats help keep meetings under control and helps us solve problems that we might meet. So why be off task and spend hours on a problem, when you can use the six thinking hats and solve the problem in twenty minutes?

Ben Carson was born in Detroit, Michigan where his childhood was filled with poverty. Ben has struggled with poor grades and violent temper. His mother Sonya had dropped out of school in the third grade and got married at the age of thirteen. After Sonya had realized her son’s poor grades and decided to change their lives around with daily chores. After a few weeks his grades have astonishingly raised. He then graduated high school and graduated Yale Law for medical services. Then in 1987 Ben had made medical history separating two Siamese twins conjoined from the back. In 1997 Ben had quit his medical duties and writing books becoming an author. So far I don’t think Ben Carson and have anything in common besides his failing grades for a short period of time.

Pictures Tell 1000 words do they?

Photography, people say that pictures tell 1000 words, now do picture tell a 1000 words yes it does Pictures tell 1000 words because they have something going on and it tells you wants happening. . Pictures can bad or extremely good, like if nothing is going then its bad. When you have interesting things going on in the story then it’s a good picture. Pictures can help you if you are having problems, like they relax you sometimes. They also can make you laugh. Picture do tell a 1000 words but everyone it tells it different.

Digital photography, is it a useless hobby or a necessary ability? by rebecca (curtis)

…In digital photography, there are several guidelines to follow to make your photos original. They are Reflection, which is shooting the reflection of something in a mirror or pool of water. Shooting the Unusual is pretty self explanatory. Empty space is when there is tons of space in a picture where there isn’t anything present. There are several others, and more inspirational ways to shoot as well. Some people seem to think that photography is a useless waste of time, that it won’t help you anywhere, and is irrelevant to the 21st century. If it is so useless, how would you be able to do so much? Document memories, important dates, and relieve stress. Documenting memories, such as the birth of your niece, would be hard to do without photography. Photographing important dates such as the presidential election would be nearly impossible. Relieving stress is a huge, ginormus, gigantic issue in the 21st century. All these people working 3 jobs in the week, 4 shifts over the weekend make the world a stressful place. With no fun way to relieve stress, the world would cease to exist as we know it. Crime would rise at an alarming rate, as would suicides. But, with photography, the world can remain a happy, healthy, fantastical place.

Tamara Jackson- Global Warming

It has been happening for centuries; us killing our atmosphere; us making people sick all over the world. The cause: global warming. To begin, global warming has many causes. Pollution coming from cars, trains, planes, factories, etc. is making global warming become worse. The pollution is called carbon dioxide. Furthermore, carbon dioxide is a harmful chemical to our earth and us. It strips our atmosphere; which means is global warming continues the sun’s harmful rays are getting to earth. This means our earth is becoming warmer. I.e. global warming. Last, this could be stopped if we stop cutting down trees so much, and think of cleaner ways of transportation. If we don’t the consequence could turn deadly! Global warming is killing our atmosphere so it is up to us to stop it.

So, if you are on the pro side might as well give up because this food is a silent killer.

(curtis) rebecca-ben carson

Ben Carson's mother dropped out of school in 3rd grade, and was married at the tender age of 13. She had two sons; Benjamin and Curtis. She was left to raise both boys alone when she divorced their father. In 5th grade, the boys' education was at stake; everyone who knew them thought they were illiterate, that they were, as their classmates put it, "dummies". Their mother took immediate action. They weren't permitted to go outside and play until all homework was done; they had to read two library books per week, and write a book report for their mother to check, even though she c could barely read them with her limited knowledge. The boys then started to excel in school, were at the top of their class, and eventually, Ben Carson accomplished his dream of being a neurosurgeon. Ben Carson's life relates to my personal goals because I was a victim of this kind of name-calling, though I've now overcome the people who just feel t the need to hurt others, I haven't overcome those who don't believe I can be a veterinarian. That is my goal, it's what I want to be, but people don't think I can do it. How can you do something when the people who are supposed to support you and make you feel good about yourself are the ones making you feel worthless? My objective is to be like Ben Carson, and follow my dreams and ignore those who would like to hurt me.

The whole main part of the Six Thinking Hats is getting people who you’re working with to make good ideas and efficient ideas together. This is a big advantage for the 21st century. There are numerous reasons company’s aren’t successful. They can not get along with each other in there company so they create terrifing ideas. By learning the Six Thinking Hats it can help people work together and find the pros in ideas. It also can find flaws in ideas that wouldn’t be found by using a regular discussion. That’s why the Six thinking hats is going to be useful in the future.

AIDS and our economy-lucky bell

AIDS is a growing epidemic around the globe. People are dying, money is being lost, and scientists are being pushed to the limit. Everyday someone is dying from AIDS. And because so many people are dying, insurance and funeral costs are out of the roof. Most people, who get AIDS, are usually living in poverty stricken conditions, so it makes it very difficult for them when their money making family member dies; because they have to pay for the death, and start over and find new ways to survive without that same family member. Also, it is getting for insurance companies, because they are having to have to pay for the deaths also. They are using their money to pay for these funerals, and getting the families back on track. Africa is having the greatest problem with this. There has to be immediate action to stop AIDS, because our economy is already almost falling into recession, and AIDS is not helping at all.

Ben Carson Braxton Brown

Ben Carson had a hard life growing up, he was born to a poor family when his mother was 14, and made fun of in school. Despite the hand the fate dealt him he grew to be a very successful doctor overcoming all obstacles in his way. I can relate is life to mine in some ways because I know what its like to have people think your stupid, and they don’t expect any thing from you. I have had a main goal in life that is to do well in school and become successful in life. I also grew up into a tough life when my mom gave birth to me we both almost died, I developed heart problems and my mom was on dialyses and almost died. Even after my mother was ill she still urged me to do the best that I can in school. Growing up we had many challenging obstacles and we survived them and my life is great. Just like Ben I had a hard child hood and some day I will be successful just like him.
I believe that we both have had many hard ships like being raised by a single mother but I have also had many more. I want to be able to go to college and get a good paying job. I used to have a low self of steam and I still do but I need to work through that. I read a lot of books and I know that I can use my knowledge. I know a great deal of knowledge about Asia and I hope I can use it. My knowledge of books also give me idea’s for inventions and other things like that. It also give me knowledge for building and destroying for warfare for almost every aspect in life. I can also relate to almost every person thanks to books this gives me an advantage. Books have helped me pass the roughest times in my life. That is why I am some what similar but yet totally different

ben carison

ben in a way reminds me of a friend of mine. this friends mom makes him read books just like bens momdose too.

Ben

The life of Ben can relate with me is how hard he tries and the people that push him into being a better person. To begin my mom will start nagging on me because I would always want to go outside and play when I was small. She encouraged me to always try my best and don’t care what people think. She told me to read on my spare time that way I can get smarter. Then I actually started answering questions because I am kind of shy. That is the day I actually thought I was kind of smart. Clearly, I can go on forever, but here are many reasons why I can relate to Ben.

Ben Carson is a great person and is very inspiring. He was a very poor kid but despite how he lived, he mother pushed him to be the best of all best. Ben Carson had great goals and knew what he wanted to do in life and that why he succeeded in what he wanted to do. Ben Carson is now the greatest black surgeon and his life have great morale and value.

Ci3rA....How im like Ben Carson

The childhood of Ben Carson to some people would seem bad or hard, to me Ben Carson overcame obstacles and lived up to his dreams. A the age of 13 Bens mother became pregnant, she had two kids by age 15. By fifth grade his rough life over through him and his brother causing them to be in the bottom of all their classes. Ms. Carson then cracked down on her sons, limiting t.v. and allowed them to go out side only when their homework was done. One day in Carson’s life he prevailed to his classmates gaining their approval. Ben is somewhat like me he is confident and had harsh rules to keep his life together. Ben is now a pediatric neurosurgeon he never gave up and although many people including his teachers doubted him he concured his dreams and proved that no matter your surcumstances there is hope.

Ben Carson By: Roger Arzate

I can relate to the life of Ben Carson for a few reasons. For example he was always called dumb and so have I. His mom also made him read, but he actually read and I didn’t. But he has more success than me so far. From reading he learned more things and became the top of his class. Then later became a doctor type person. So he achieved much in his life even though he was at the lowest.

In the land of Noobs..people roam free...but not all is calm...a monster has the little noobs frantic, Global Warming. Global warming heats up our climate and causes not just drought, but rain of epic proportions. Global Warming is also causing animals such as Seals, and Polar Bears to become extinct. Those poor little cute fluffy cuddly white...Never mind, this needs to be stopped. The polar caps are melting too, which can lead to sea levels rising and temparuture levels from the ocean to rise. Ben Carson started from humble beginnings, having no money and education. His mom dropped out of school in 3rd grade. Then she got married at the age of 13. At school Ben was thought to be really dumb and stupid, and his classmates called didn’t think he could do anything. Ben’s mother was determined to help her son’s academic problems, and soon after he was at the top of his class. Years later after he was done with school, he received a psychology scholarship at Yale University. He went on to perform several important operations and became a well known doctor. His story is similar to my life because I wasn’t very smart at first in school. Also, mom was a single mother for a while too, so she had to deal with the problems. Also, even though he wasn’t smart at first, he tried and tried until he succeeded and that’s what I do.

Ben Carson

Ben Carson’s life can be put into comparison for me because he was faced with many problems and obstacles and he still went through and pushed his way towards his goals. I have had many things pushed upon me that I was not prepared for. But I also pushed my way to achieve my goals. I try to achieve whatever I can no matter what obstacles are sprung upon me. Ben Carson was an amazing voyager through a path of roadblocks, and hopefully I will be there and be remembered as such.

past simularitys

how my life and carsons life are similar is how our grades went.he had started out being dumb and was unfortunetly lowest in class. I also had low grades and it was due to the fact I was lazy and never asked questions for help. Carson then started to work harder do to the fact his mother fooled him that she read them.I did start to get better over time but not by much till my parents had checked if i had home work daily and soon was pushed by my parents.in the end we both had to be pushed just to start working and continue where we are right now.

Ben Carson the inspiraional

How can someone who was laughed at as a child, a person who was dumber than a box of rocks… be so inspirational? He tried. Ben beat the odds by working hard. Within a year he went from the worst student to the best. Now I know not to let the obstacles get me down. I will try my best and hope for the best as I follow the steps of Ben Carson as I go from zero to hero.
-Let nothing stop you as the inspirational Ben Carson lives inside of you!

The Six Thinking Hats 2

Ok everyone until now, people thought that there are only six thinking hats.
Blue-the hat of metacognition
Red-the hat of emotions
Black-the hat of cons
White-the hat of facts
Green-the hat of wild ideas
Yellow-the hat of pros
But today, I tell you of the seventh hat...Brown hat, the hat of boredom. The brown hat is the hat you put on if you are bored and want to do something. The six thinking hats relate to the program because we discussed this in CTR. This relates to a job because using the hats help keep meetings under control and helps us solve problems that we might meet. So why be off task and spend hours on a problem, when you can use the six thinking hats and solve the problem in twenty minutes?

alternative fuels

My topic is about alternative fuels. Alternative fuels are better than fossil fuels because they are less pollutant and they dont give off as much Co2. Some fuels are even limitless, and get it anywhere. There are some problems some fuels dont generate enough power. Some still give off pollutants. As a result, off using these fuels we will be more effeicent.

AIDS economically

AIDS is a growing epidemic that is not only affecting people emotionally and physically, but financially and economically. AIDS kills millions of people, and of course most of the time, there is a funeral. Which causes problems for families. If they do not have good life insurance or their insurance does not fully cover it, then they they left buried in debt paying for the funeral; For years and years. Also, a lot of money is being spent on research, but not all efforts have been proven useless . There have been medicines for people with AIDS to live normal lives, but they are too expensive for people living in poverty. obviously AIDS is getting worse, and something needs to be done to stop or slow it down.

Ben Carson's mother dropped out of school in 3rd grade, and was married at the tender age of 13. She had two sons; Benjamin and Curtis. How can you do something when the people who are supposed to support you and make you feel good about yourself are the ones making you feel worthless? My objective is to be like Ben Carson, and follow my dreams and ignore those who would like to hurt me.

If I don’t get to be a doctor I still want to go to college. Second, he wanted to show his teachers and classmates that he wasn’t stupid and he can do anything that they can do, and be3 at the top of the class. My goal is to also be at the top of my class and get good grades and achieve past my classmates. Furthermore, he wanted to become a more positive person and not be so hot- tempered. I also want to be a positive person and not have a bad attitude. In conclusion, Ben Carson life relates to my goals in many ways.

Japan: Now and Then - Emma Bolinger

When we go to Japan there will be many opportunities and places we can go to experience the life of a total different culture. This is very good because then we can understand how the world is outside our borders ‘walls’. I know for a fact that there are many things we can learn about, like the food. We will be eating food that we may never hear of before, but everything is non-poisonous and will not hurt us. I believe that Japan is the best place to go because it is a developing country in some small parts and we can be there while there is still a chance to experience the life in someone else’s shoes than our own.

The Infuencial Life of Ben Carson

Prompt: How can the life of Ben Carson relate to your own personal goals? My Answer:Mom dropped out of school at 3rd gradeMarried at the age of 13Worked 2-3 jobs at a timeBen and Brother fell farther and farther to the bottom of his classKids called him dummy and he created a violent temperMom could not read but pretended to read her kids reportsBen Carson proved to his class that he was smarter than a dummyBen Carson reading books, made him much more smarter than everybody elseWithin a year, he was at the top of his class instead of being at the bottomBecame knowledge crazed and wanted to learn much moreHe began reading so much more and also learned how to control his bad temperSeparated a pair of Siamese twinsDid surgery on a kids brainCarson says think big with; talent, honesty, insight, nice, knowledge, books,My Sentence: Ben Carson was an amazing man and I’m surprised that I never heard about him, he has done so many wonderful things that I can’t describe with human language.

Even though I and Benjamin Carson are completely different, his life impacts mine in many ways. For one, both of our mothers limit TV, even though mine does it for punishment instead of my benefit. Also, we both have anger management issues. I can relate to how he dealt with his anger control. Carson also wrote two books, which I did as well. Even we were born years apart, I can relate to Ben Carson in multiple ways.

Although Ben Carson’s life was very inspirational, his life goals have nothing to do with my personal goals my personal goals consist of becoming a fashion designer and then starting an orphanage. Unlike Ben my parents have never had to jump in to my schooling. I have always loved school. I have never had dreams of becoming a neurosurgeon. I think there is only but one thing we have in come in and that’s reading. As Ben turned in to a young adult he loved to read and I love to read. Although Bens Carson’s life has been very inspirational, his life goals have nothing to do with my personal goals.

Ben Carson

It can relate to my life because I want to be in the health department. My goal is a little different because I want to work with premature babies, and he wanted to be a surgeon. He was having a hard life by being in trouble and his mom did anything to make him smart so he wouldn’t be made fun of. Then he turned life around. My mom did the same sort of thing because she encourages me to get straight A’s and when its summer she makes me do homework. Also she pushes me to the limits. If I keep listing to my mom’s advice and letting her work me I probably will reach my goal. That’s exactly what Ben Carson did, he listened to his mom and became smarter than the rest of his classmates and reached his goal. I also plan on reaching my goal!

Ben Carson SCR by Bryan Cruz

The life of Ben Carson can relate to my personal goals, because he’s successful and works hard. My goal is to become successful, and get far in the world. So his life relates to my goals, because he is the kind of person it does not give up. People who are successful get far and reach the top and that’s what I aim to become, the best. He has done what others haven’t done in his time; he separated Siamese twins that were joined together from the back of their heads. That deals with me, because he did what others haven’t done and that’s what I plan to do, what others have never done. Ben Carson’s life is full of success and hard work and that's what I want my life to be like, successful and hardworking.

Ben Carson by Reiko Moss

Based on my life and my personal goals that I have set for myself, I can say that Ben Carson’s life relates to mine in many possible ways. To begin, when he was in school many people called him stupid and everyone doubted him and it made him want to give up on his goals. His mom kept encouraging him and made him give up the T.V. to read every night. It eventually paid off and he later off in his life became a surgeon. When I grow up I want to become a pediatrician or a football player. So, I can’t let anything stop me from pursuing my dreams and my goals. Without a doubt, Ben Carson’s life relates to my goals in these many ways.

The Tragic Life of BEN CARSON

Ben Carson started of as a “BIG DUMBIE” and was in the bottom of hid class. His mom was a single woman, working three jobs. When she found out that her son was a “BIG DUMBIE” she was going to turn things around. Ben’s mom said they were to read a book, right out there homework and show her. Ben didn’t think this helped until he could name a rock nobody else could. He was a “BIG SMARTIE” now and he like it. He studied and worked hard to become the beast he could be. It paid off when he was accepted to go to a very good collage. Now with hard work and motivation he wasn’t a “BIG DUMIE” any more.

Ben Carson By Anh Nguyen

Ben Carson’s life is somewhat similar to my personal goals/life. When I was younger, I couldn’t speak English. The other kids would tease me and say things to me but I couldn’t understand them. However I could still tell they were making fun of me. So that result me in hating and not enjoying school at all. Therefore I wasn’t paying attention to my teachers and I failed horribly in Kindergarten and First grade. Then my mom came into the picture. She knew it was hard to watch me struggle in school, because I didn’t understand any thing. Therefore she made me so many children’s books and improved my English. My mom would also make me memorize the books and read it back to her. Even though she could barely speak English, she pushed me on and knew I was improving so much! Finally in 2nd grade I could speak English fluently and I have my mom to thanks because if it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be in this class right now typing on a laptop, the 21st century program has given to me and reached a goal. (Which was getting in the 21st century program) Therefore I am just as thankful as Ben Carson to have my mom help me reach my goals.

Ben Carson is an amazing man who is an insperation to all. His story can help all achive there dreams. My personal dream is to be the frist lady presidtent of the US. In life goal are curtail components of triumph, at first Ben Carson had no goals, and no triumph, like me. In Ben’s early years he was your average or even below average student, as was I in the elementary years of my life. We both had no inspiration, encouragement, or accomplishment in school. As his life progressed he started to take full responsibility for his actions, work quality, and his goals. I elementary school most teachers try and tell their students that in middle school the teachers will rip up a paper if there is no name on it, that is why I shaped up. In the end, Ben Carson and I resemble each other so much in our academic goals and our past.

Ben Carson has many things that I can relate to. If it wasn’t for my mother, I still would be a dummy too. My parents are not divorced thought. When I was little I wanted to be a veterinarian and as well as Ben Carson, I studied too. Now I want to be in the WNBA and yes there is a way to study that too. I love to watch other people play basketball and learn from them. Ben Carson had a passion for becoming a physician like I do basketball and he set many goals to achieve that just like I set goals to achieve my dreams. Ben Carson is a wonderful idol and I admire him a lot. Hopefully I can achieve my dreams and one day be as successful as Ben Carlson.

feild trips

the 21st century cirriculum pilot program should progress in more field trips that are more fun. One field trip we can go to is to the coca cola center and see how they make sodas or pepsi.

Ben Carson By Adam Flores

Ben Carson’s goals are similar to mine by these reasons. The first similarity is he set his mind that he was going to finish school then go to college. Ben Carson was failing different classes like I’m failing science, but he had a learning disability. Benjamin's parents divorced when he was eight years old. Like my parents divorced when I was 8. Ben Carson lives a really wonderful life now but in his childhood it was miserable like mine was.

Ben Carson Milissa Moore

For a while Ben Carson was failing his classes, but his mom was determined to turn his life around. Ben Carson’s parents were divorced. Carson had the ability to sing. Singing was his talent. He set goals in his life, kind of like what I do. Ben Carson had succeeded in life. I would say that he is a role model for young adults.

Ben Carson- How We Relate

Ben Carson was like any other American who had a hard life, but with one exception. He worked hard and stood out from the rest. Like Ben, it took some really hard work to get where I am now. I feel that I can relate to Ben Carson because he and I needed to work hard to stand out. Ben started out as a "dummy". With the support of his mother, he became determined to do well in school. And guess what? That is exactly what he did. Now, I was never really called a dummy, but I was known as a nerd to quite a few people. With the support of my mother, I figured out a way to be outgoing and still get those good grades. I hope I will become a successful person one day, like Benjamin Carson, because he and I aren't so different.

6 Thinking Hats Estrella Dizon

People can start using 6 thinkin hats.
Blue Hat- Metacognition Hat decides what other hat you are going for first.
White Hat- Stating all the facts and figures about the subject.
Red Hat- States feeling and emotions about subject and people cannot judge your thoughts.
Black Hat- States negative thoughts about the subject.
Green Hat- States creative idead without people judging you.
Yellow Hat- States all the positive things about the subject.

6 Thinking Hats is a different way of thinking. But I believe that Blue Hat always comes first so you can decide what other hats to use.

Ben Carson on Dreams

Red-the hat of emotions
Black-the hat of cons

BEn Carson's Dreams

Ben was know at his school as the school dummy but proved everybody and became what he wanted to be. To begin, he learned everything when his mother made him and his brother read two books every week. Also, he became the top student of his class. Furthermore, he was the first to separate Siamese twins with the same brain for them. So this is the amazing life of the once dumb Ben Carson.

Ben Carson can relate to my own personal goals in many ways. One being that he was not very good in 5th grade this was me. another is that his mom ways making him create great goals for him as I am. The third reason is he started succeeding in life like me. This are the reasons why Ben can relate to me own personal goals.

Ben Carson

You always hear about the small town children that had a family that always struggled, but they are always the ones who make their dreams, reality. That is exactly what happened to Ben Carson. He was very lucky to have the mother that he did, because she always pushed her children to learn and know as much as they could. As a child he wanted to go to Yale, a top university, which was a goal in life for him, or a dream you could say. Ben Carson’s dreams became reality, which is one thing that I have in common with him, I want my dreams to become reality. Another thing that Ben Carson and I have in common is that we both want as much education that we can get, so that we can be the best at whatever we do. Although Ben Carson got his success, long before I did, when it comes to goals, we have things in common.

Ben Carson "The man to Strive for what he wants!'

A very respectable person in my eyes, Ben Carson. I feel as if I can relate myself to him.
I think that I can relate to Ben Carson, by the way I strive for things that I want. I work hard for the thing I want or deserve! I find that we went above and beyond to achieve his goal. Ben also did what he had to do, so that he made sure he made something of himself. Ben Carson also happened to surpass and show that he was not a “dummy” or stupid. I also find that he should pay great respect to his mother. She also went out of her way to help him learn and prove himself.
Now as I conclude, I would just like to pay respect to a high powered, and hard striving person that had to work for were he is at.

Success; the ability to be success is something we all have in despite of what people might think and say to bring us down. Ben Carson, a student that thought he was pretty much useless, but that all changed we his mother put her foot down. My mom is the same way; if I don’t get all A or Bs then I get all my privileges taken away , also I can’t watch TV or go outside or to any place too till I finish my homework. He went to the university of Yale, if I would get into Yale that would be a dream come true .Ben Carson thought he couldn’t do it, and now he is successful and a proud man; reading about Ben Carson changed my mind, I thought I couldn’t be a great student, but now am trying my best so I can be successful and proud ignoring what people say and do to make me weak, in the running of being successful and proud. Success something we can all have if we just think we can and change for the good.

Ben Carson

Ben Carson was a child in a poor family. He went to school but did not get a good education at all. His mother soon realized this and wanted to change it. She made him and his siblings read books every day and then give reports on the books. He learned more and more everyday because of what she did. A scientist came into the school and asked the class what kind of rock he had in his hand. No one in the class tried to answer because they simply did not know. Then Ben raises his hand and answers the question. Then says "Yes, you are right".

· Ben Carson was an honorable man. He had a ruff child hood. I also am having a ruff child hood. I’m always being approached by 1 particular 8th grader and he knows who he is. My mom tries hard to get us going. Now all I have to do is wait for that day I prove that one 8th grader(he who I will not win) I am who I am and he cant put me down.

Ben Carson
Bens Carson’s life is very interesting and I think that his career is even more interesting. Ben Carson’s life had been rough because everybody said that he was a dummy but he had a very strong weapon that helped him improve which was his moms love and believe in him. His mom was the one that had changed his life because she had made him read 2 books a week and make a report for each book. He improved in school and surprised everybody when he answered and was right. Ever since that day his life had changed.

Ben Carson

I have always wanted to something more in my life just like Ben Carson. As he made a difference in his life by one simple thing he become known and should then become a great student. He to be as impotent as all the other students. This relates to my personal goals because I want to answer questions like him and make it though school like him.
Ben Carson was a good man and his life applies to my life because of a few reasons and I will be showing you those. One he proved that just because it is said doesn’t mean that it is true. Plus he proved everybody wrong. I want to be like that only by making a DNA based computer. He also became a doctor and that is one of the things that I wanted to be. As you can see that Ben Carson does apply to my life goals in some sort of way.

My life has several goals including being in the Air Force Academy, but few can relate to that like Ben Carson. To begin, Ben made dramatic improvement from being the “dummy” in his class to being at the top of his class. This shows that if you apply yourself, you can do many things you dreamed impossible. Equally important, he has succeeded in his life and fulfilled his goal of being a surgeon like how I hope to be in the AFA. This relates to me because I have already fulfilled some of my goals such as being a tutor for the program. Additionally, Carson has created an Acronym for success like a have.

Success
Poonage (Ownage)
Intelligence
Don’t be a noob
Excellence
Relevance

Manly ness
Awesomeness

As you can clearly see, Ben Parker, a terrific man, can relate do my life, and that has greatly influenced me.

Ben carson's life could relate to my personal goals is by being a doctor. I mean by him likeing college and being a doctor when he gradtue college. Also, when he operated on smeinese twins and i awlays wanted to do that. when i grow up i want to operate on sneinese twins like him. that's how ben carson can relate to my own personal goals.

SCR Ben Carlson Abby Gonzalez

The life of Ben Carter can relate to my Goals because everyone called him a dummy and the teachers thought that too. Sure he would get angry and frustrated but he never gave up on himself. He had confidence in himself to believe that he can become an intelligent boy, and never be called a Dummy again. So every night his mother would check his work and have him read two books a week. Ben’s mother can not read as much as Ben can but she didn’t want him to end up like her, so he read and read. Then a day came that there was a visitor that held a rock. He knew what the rock was, but his fear conquered his ability to speak what to say. Ben raised his hand and answered the correct answer. By his life story I can learn from him that whatever people say, I’ll never let it get to my head. I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. Ben Carson’s life can relate to my goals by learning to accomplish my goals.

Ben Carson

it relates because i wnat to get all A's all throught this year!

Ben Carson

Ben Carson was a very dumb boy in the fifth grade this paragraph will tell you how his life turned to the better. Ben Carson was the dummy of the class in the fifth grade, he was either silent or he would answer and get it wrong and everyone would call him an idiot. Although he didn’t know it his life was about to change to the better. His mother limited his TV time and made him read books every week. The turning point in his life was when a guest speaker held a black rock and asked what it was. Ben knew but was too scared to answer. He answered and got it right, the kids almost made fun of him until they realized he was right. The answer was obsidian. From then on Ben realized he was meant for bigger and better things. He went on to successfully separate the first pair of Siamese twins. He then was the first neurosurgeon to relieve pressure on the brain from too much water and save a patient’s life. Ben Carson changed form dumb boy to surgeon genius.

Ben Carlson SCR Estrella Dizon

Ben Carson’s life relates to my life in a variety of ways. Even though he was 13 when he got married, doesn’t mean that he can’t be the same as me, like the way my parents work to support the family. Both my parents say education is important, so I only have limited play time, so I can do well in school. His mom changed the way they were living, so Ben can do better in school. I know my mother and father would do that to make me do better in school if I was failing. Ben has family that he looks after and I do the same for my family.

SCR Ben Carlson, Emma Bolinger

I believe that Ben Carlson is a great inspiration to me, because he was obligated to read when he was little and he turned out to go to medical school. I believe that if you just put your mind to reading and learning then there are the only ways you can be a legend like him. I feel as though my mom and his mom are alike, because my mom makes me read a few books a week and do a book report on each on. I like him because knowing that reading two books a week could make such a big impression on every person, and encourage them to read to be such a wonderful business man when you grow up. I like the quote “Think Big!” I think that is very smart and shows. I believe his mom is a wonderful inspiration to other parents so they can do the same thing and hope that it may happen to there kids too. Ben Carlson is a great and wonderful man and I hope to one day be like him before it is too late.

Ben Carson on Dreams

Ben Carson can relate to your dreams and goals. My dream is to become the first lady president. So even though i am not the best person, but will achive my drems, i now have a chance to achive my dreams. Thank you Ben Carson!

Ben Carson

Dr. Benjamin Carson was born in Detroit, Michigan as the son of a third-grade drop out mother. As a kid, he was at the bottom of his class and was called “dummy.” But soon later, Mrs. Sonya Carson took actions for her kids’ education and Benjamin Carson was soon at the top of his class, impressing all those who pointed at him behind the future doctor’s back. Eventually, he earned a psychology degree from Yale University and learned to control his temper that threatened him from the time he got it when he was a “dummy.” Throughout his medical future, Carson made historical operations which were to successfully separate Siamese twins. Born as a below average boy, Dr. Benjamin Carson is now known as a historical doctor.

The life of Ben Carson can relate to my personal goals in many ways. His life relates to my goals because one thing I’ve always been trying to do is to just gain knowledge because I wanted to not because I need to. I want to teach myself to just gain knowledge to gain it. His life is an inspiration story to me. A lot of the things he accomplished in life is my goal. Sometimes I need help controlling my anger against people it doesn’t needed to be pushed to. I can learn from the things Ben Carson did and how he’s been successful so I can be successful too in completing my goals.

Ben carson thing mo bob

Ben Carson can relate to one of my goals, which is to become successful.
When Ben was a child everyone was mean and calls him names. His mother didn’t want him to feel anymore pain so she pushed him and pushed him till he proved to all his class mates he is not an idiot. Of coarse he has fulfilled his goal. I would one day go to collage and have a happy life like Ben Carson did.

Ben Carson

How can the life of Ben Carson relate to your own personal goals?

The life of Ben Carson relate to my personal goals because my goal is to become something when I have nothing to start with, and that is what Ben Carson had to do. My goals are complex because I have to do many things to make my parents happy, and to make me feel proud. Ben Carson had to do the same thing. He had to work hard to make his life change, and to make himself, and his mom proud. That is how Ben Carson relates to my very personal goal.

How can the life of Ben Carson relate to your own personal goals?

Ben Carson can help motivate many people including me. He triumphed his fears and set-backs to become a very successful man. He taught me to keep going at what I need to do so I will get somewhere in life. Now I won’t give up until I’m where I want to be. If a man who was tormented and looked down upon as a child can make it that far, then it makes me feel the sky is the limit and I can do anything I want.

Ben Carson

Ben Carson had to deal with a lot of problems throughout his childhood. The biggest was his school related problems. With his moms help he went from being the lowest student in his class, to the highest. For instance, after 9 my mom doesn’t let me watch TV and instead tells me to read a book…which I don’t do. Ben’s mother did the same thing and also made him write a report about it. By doing that he learned more about rocks and answered the question and proved people wrong about his intellectuality. Without his moms help he never would have became a neurosurgeon.

The Life Of Ben Carson ~ Landon Lloyd

Persistence, Hardworking, and Willing, qualities that describe both me and Ben Carson. Ben Carson’s life relates to my goals in many ways. I believe that if you make the right choices early in life like Ben did you will be a lot better off in the long run. Ben stopped the addiction of television and entertainment to gain personal knowledge, and in, my opinion, that’s the best choice he could have made. These choices made him smarter and more intelligent. My goals require an educational background and if I make the choices Ben made, then I can accomplish them more efficiently. Because slackers will not accomplish nearly as much as hard workers, and will therefore have less success. So in conclusion, if you work hard and are persistent, you will have a long and successful life.

The Life of Ben Carson and My Life Goals

The life of Ben Carson can be described as this, full of hardships, eventful, and inspirational. His life can relate to my life goals because of those three words. I know life is going to come at me easy, but one of my goals is to be prepared for some of those hardships. Life should also be eventful; I hope and pray that my life will continue to give me new ideas to celebrate and be thankful for. Finally, my ultimate life goal is to inspire at least one person. Ben Carson has successfully done that, and my dream is to make the difference in one person’s life, that they will remember me for. My life goals have been inspired by Ben Carson and people like him, and now I hope that I will become a person as well educated and rousing as he himself.

Not worthy, bright, successful, anger, and frustrating; I don’t believe in my self anymore just like Ben Carson. When I was in 6th grade, I had great time learning, but now who knows why I lost my excitement for learning. Now that I’m growing up, I am getting into independent activities and more personal relationships which then change my mind about school and education. I feel my current teachers don’t believe in me and mostly underestimate my abilities. I realized that they might be right. Now that one of my teachers actually helps me with various applications, I feel I am one step closer achieving my goals in life. I now know it truly hurts me for the future if I underestimate myself. Proving to the people around me, that I can be successful is going to be my next project.

Stem Cell Research

Hey Everyone,
I know a lot of the subjects we talk about in class, clash with beliefs, or just your personal opinion. So I just wanted to know what you guys thought about stem cell research. I personally, can't pick sides. I could go both ways. I totally disagree for taking the life of what could be, but what if those cells could save the life of your loved one. Some people in our classes are totally against stem cell research, and some are for it. But I'm curious though, my parents don't really voice their opinions to me about these sort of topics, so I have to make my own. Does your opinion come from your parent's or your own thoughts. I'm totally not trying to get at that, that's wrong or anything. I'm just wondering if your parents do or don't talk to my fellow class mates about the latest issues. Let me know!

Global Warming

Many people say global warming is just a phase and it will end on it's own. Otheres say humans are causing it and it won't end without our help. I say it's caused by us and we should try and stop it. Or at least try and slow it down. What do you think? Human caused or is it just a phase?

History in the Polls...

The upcoming election is a touchy subject for many people. Personally, i like Obama. But i don't like how people think that his muslim background is a way of terrorizing America from the inside out. He's putting out the trouble to even run therefore he shows his love for this country and his quest to better it. I dont like how people keep questioning "Is America Ready for a Female President?" To me, its not about her gender, it's about what she stands for and her beliefs. Not the fact that she can wear a skirt. What are some of you guys feeling on this?

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION IN OR OUT ???

THERE IS A BIG DEBATE ON IF ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION IF IT SHOULD BE ALLOWED.
HOWEVER, THEY ARENT SEEING WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF ALL IMMIGRANTS GET KICK OUT, AND CANT COME BACK.
NOW ITS TIME FOR YOU TO SPEAK YES OR NO, BUT THINK BEFORE YOU WRITE.

Re-Arming

Should we Re-Arm Japan? The Japanese forces are planning to re-arm themselves because of fear. They fear that the North Korean forces, Chinese forces, and others are planning to attack. As the missiles of North Korea grows, every one fears that something terrifying will accour. NK (North Korea) thretends to launch. Launch their Nuclear missiles at the strong points of the U.S. and Japan. Personally i think it is Japans best intrest to Re-arm themselves and nolonger be a passive country.

State your opinion.
