Horror of War

By: Rachel Byers

Heels clicking with a terrifying rhythm
Fear shooting to the heart like a bullet
Armed to the teeth
Horror stalking her as she ran
Death following on the heels of her steel toed boots
Sweat slipping down her skin
Heat rising
Running from safety
For it surely is her enemy and torture
Armor shielding her from the further harm
Only protection is a Bowie and Biretta
Death walks these streets
Bullets fly
For war is her constant companion
Weapons her only resort to life
20 gauge
Tazer
Poison tipped throwing stars
45 magnums
Gatling gun
Grenade launcher
Three sets of one piece black thigh, shoulder, and chest protecting body armor
Crossed reverse shotgun holsters
Strapped thigh accommodating quick release weapons holders
3 pairs of steel toed boots
3 pairs metal mesh meat cutter's (anti-teeth) gloves lined in fleece and covered with black leather
Anti-assault helmets with night vision goggles.
Biretta
Bowie
All her friends
Violence, her never ending life
