What is the secret to life? Many have pondered this subject for years, some their entire lives. Yet, most of them were unsuccessful in figuring out exactly what it is. While those people spent their time thinking, searching for an answer, others have claimed to have it. “The Law of Attraction,” most of the great minds in our world have been known to have knowledge of this “law.” For example Albert Einstein, Abraham Lincoln, and Aristotle were just few of them. These great minds as well as others knew the secret. However, is it true? Why should we believe it? The video, “The Secret” which is a prime example of the “Medium is the Message,” explains it as this…. “The Law of Attraction” is all about thinking. If you think positive, positive events will occur, negative thoughts will cause negative events to happen. You are what you attract, basically. Right now, “The Law of Attraction,” seems quite obviously a sham, that is deceiving many people around the world for too long.
To me “The Law of Attraction” is wishful thinking. For example, if you are in a classroom, miles away from a drink shop, and you think all positive thoughts and that you truly want a smoothie. Are you going to get one? Unless your teachers make you one, which would be weird, it is not going to happen. Just because you concentrate on something with all of your thought does not mean under any circumstances that you are going to get it. It is the same with money, jobs, and just about everything else in life.
What is most interesting about this “law” is that people who are attracted to this law are people that are stuck in a rut in their life. For example, whether it is a lack of money in their life, or they are at a dead end job. To them, their life is not worth it anymore. So, when a movie comes out like “The Secret,” those vulnerable people are drawn into this scam. They come to believe that positive thoughts, and hope for things they want in their life will give it to them which is not true. Life is not easy and things that you want aren’t going to be handed to you on a platter. You have to work hard for them, and if you concentrate and go for it then you will succeed and get what you want. Hence, in my opinion this is one of the largest scams occurring in our world.
In my life, I have never really had anything handed to me that I want. Well, except on my birthday, Christmas, or any other holiday. However that doesn’t count. I have worked extremely hard for what I have and what I am today. I appreciate everything I have earned and the people around me that have helped me achieve what I want. So, “The Law of Attraction” has not convinced me that it is the supposed secret to life. The great minds that have acclaimed to know this may have been right in their own minds but not in mine. Again life is not always kind to you, or what you want, however if you work hard, concentrate, and go for it. Your life might just look up.
